I was born and raised in central New Jersey. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Rutgers University, Douglass College. After migrating west in the 1990s, I spent ten rewarding and challenging years working as a nonprofit arts manager. I then went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in Applied Behavioral Science from The Leadership Institute of Seattle (LIOS), the school of Applied Behavioral Science at Bastyr University. I graduated in 2008. I have been working and gaining knowledge and experience in the inpatient, outpatient and private practice setting since that time.
How long does therapy take?
The length of time you spend in therapy can vary greatly depending on your individual goals, the complexity of the issues being addressed and your readiness for change.
What is the length of a therapy session and how often should we meet?
Sessions for individual therapy are 55 minutes long. I recommend to all of my clients that we meet once a week, but we will discuss your treatment plan at our initial session and decide together the frequency of our meetings depending on your individual needs.
Do you offer free initial sessions?
I offer 30 minute consultations free of charge either by phone or in person. Please call to schedule a free consult.
Do you offer sliding scale fees?
I offer a limited number of sliding scale openings. Please call or email me to check on avialability.
How much do you charge and do you accept insurance?
My fee is $160 for a 55 minute session. I am a preferred provider for Premera Blue Cross, Lifewise, First Choice Health, Kaiser/Group Health PPO and Cigna Behavioral Health. As a fully Licensed Mental Health counselor in the state of Washington, I am covered as an out of network provider by most other health insurance plans. I am happy to provide a receipt for services with all the necessary documentation for you to submit to your insurance company for out of network reimbursement.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash or personal checks. I also accept credit card or debit payments through my billing portal with Simple Practice.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your session for any reason, I require a minimum of 24 hours notice. You are responsible to pay for your session in full if a cancellation request is received less than 24 hours in advance.
